Task 3.1 –
Analyses will take place of
typical ‘batches’ of furniture that are due to become available for
reworking to ascertain likely variables such as quality, materials content
etc with the development of
database of predicted material flows available for remanufacture / reuse
over next 25 years
Task
3.2 – A standard procedure has been developed
for site operatives to enable efficient
identification, removal and storage of re-workable product from a ‘batch’,
recognising the fact that not all product will be in a fit state for
reworking.
Task
3.3 – A matrix of ‘reworkability’ will be constructed so that
remanufacturing organisations such as Green Works can evaluate batches
scientifically in future. The matrix will use weighted variables such as
age, material, condition, geographical location and volume to conduct cost
benefit analyses, therefore enabling them to price their services
accordingly.
