Work Package Objectives:

  • Develop a blueprint for successful social enterprise based on furniture remanufacture, addressing issues such as design, manufacture, operational considerations and branding

Task 4.1 – Design of 5 prototypes from end of life materials

Task 4.3 – Cost Benefit Analysis of remanufactured vs product made by conventional means

Task 4.4 – Production optimisation to overcome the barriers regarding the move from prototype to production which is economically viable in a social enterprise.

Task 4.5 – Remanufactured product branding - A new generic brand strategy will be developed suitable for entry into new and existing markets for remanufactured products. This brand strategy will be translated into proposed new visual identity and communication design routes, which are likely to depart from the visual and verbal language of traditional green communications.
