Sustainable consumption

Work Package Objectives:

• Develop a better understanding of the needs and perceptions of key furniture purchasers. Develop an evaluation tool to facilitate decisions based upon the environmental merits of furniture

Task 5.1 – User needs analysis: a selected group of major furniture purchasers will be approached for details of their current purchasing and disposal policies and structures. This WP will establish the criteria which influence the furniture purchasing and disposal decisions and the barriers which currently prevent greener procurement / disposal. 

Task 5.2 – Development of evaluation tool to aid the development of tender specifications and their subsequent evaluation. (report integrated into task 5.3)

Task 5.3 – Guidance document on the sustainable specification, purchasing and disposal of furniture.
